Tina Ann Legno
Classical Horsemanship Clinician – United States
Founder of Alivio Horsemanship
Tina Legno is a classically trained horsewoman from the United States, with over three decades of experience dedicated to educating both horses and humans in the art of balanced, biomechanically correct movement. She returns to New Zealand for the first time in December 2026.
Tina’s classical education began in 1990 and was shaped under the mentorship of Linda LeGrande and Bettina Drummond—both protégées of the legendary Nuno Oliveira. In 2006, she established Alivio Horsemanship, offering riders a clear and compassionate method grounded in classical principles.
At the core of Tina’s approach is balance—physical, emotional, and relational. She believes that whether you're jumping, trail riding, or training in dressage, balance is the cornerstone of a sound, willing, and confident horse. Her teaching empowers riders to see imbalance, understand its causes, and correct it with simple, practical tools.
Tina’s clinics are engaging, practical, and deeply inspiring. She brings a unique ability to translate the “feel” of balance into something every rider can recognise and replicate—without needing a trainer in the saddle. Through clarity and encouragement, Tina helps unlock cooperation, relaxation, and joyful movement in both horse and rider.
If you're seeking lasting change, enhanced connection, and the tools to create your own “unicorn,” this is the clinic for you.
