Juan Diego Garcia-Trevijano
Classical Dressage Master – (Spain)
Juan Diego Garcia-Trevijano is a renowned classical dressage master based in Spain. A true autodidact, Juan first learned the principles of classical dressage through books, driven by an insatiable passion for the art. Though he began his equestrian career as a Grand Prix show jumper—representing Spain at the Olympic Games—his heart always belonged to classical dressage.
Known affectionately as "the magician," Juan has an extraordinary ability to transform a horse within a single session. From heavy and unbalanced to light, collected, and expressive—he brings out the best in every horse he touches, regardless of breed or background.
At the heart of Juan’s philosophy is the belief that dressage exists for the horse. With a focus on lightness, self-carriage, and a poll at the highest point, his training creates proud, sound, and willing partners. His top competition horse retired sound at 26, and his current high school partner is still thriving at 22.
Juan’s clinics offer more than a one-off experience—they provide a long-term pathway to deepen your knowledge and refine your practice. With regular visits to New Zealand, riders benefit from consistent coaching and continued progression in classical methods.
Whether you're a competitor or a passionate learner of the classical arts, this is a rare opportunity to work with one of the world’s most respected clinicians.
